Ubiquiti hardware for home - looking for advice

I'm very much a newbie here, so I'm looking for advice to help me decide on what hardware to buy for my home network.

I have a fibre connection (only 150 Mb/s down at the moment), connected to an Openreach modem and my broadband is provided by BT. I am looking to upgrade my home network, but I am unsure which products I should go with.

I'm looking at:

• Unifi Dream Machine OR Unifi Dream Router and potentially one access point upstairs, keeping the UDM/UDR downstairs
• Older USG, 8 port switch and separate access points (one upstairs and one downstairs).

I don't want to dive right into the most expensive products and I'm only looking at two access points, 3/4 ethernet sockets in different rooms and potentially two cameras at most in the future. I just want the functionality that Ubiquiti offers without breaking the bank.

Should I wait for any new products or consider any of the others?
