Hard to believe I ever actually believed in religious dogma

I stopped going to church decades ago, but a while ago I went to a funeral service for a former colleague and it was so strange listening to the priest go on and on about how the recently deceased person was now in heaven. It felt weird listening to people professing belief in a fantasy world as if it was real. It just goes to show that if you stop going to church, the brainwashing wears off after a while.
